Printing and finishing from Japan
A book, a label and a printed carton need different combinations of artwork, substrate, colour approval and finishing. Define the finished item and the decisions still open.
Identify the delivered item and the work
Bunseikaku describes a factory focused on platemaking and printing, with external partners for operations such as cutting and binding.[1] Ask who performs each operation and what the quotation includes; a printing-company name does not define the complete delivery scope.
Include intended use, quantity and unit, destination and required timing. Mark the specification you already control and what you want the supplier to propose.
- 1Finished item and material
- 2Artwork/drawing and processing
- 3Acceptance reference and delivery state
Enquiry scopes, not a manufacturing sequence or confirmation of supplier coverage.
Choose the product family and supplied state
The form and stage identify the next questions. Keep raw-material supply, manufacturing, finishing and final acceptance responsibilities distinct.

Start with a concrete decision
For a catalogue cover, distinguish artwork, colour proof, actual paper/finish and viewing conditions before judging a mismatch.

Retain the specification and approved references
Ask which material, data revision, process and samples identify the offered item, what deviations are proposed and who can approve them. Name the delivered state, packing and handover point.
For repeat orders, confirm which changes need review and retain the agreed inspection or approval reference. Check origin and production location separately if they are purchasing requirements.
